Martin Backpacker Classical Guitar

The Martin Backpacker Classical Guitar for sale ais a Martin Backpacker Classical Nylon Guitar and if you're familiar with it, you already know whether or not it's what you want.

This has been the guitar that I have taken with me on travels for about three years on my job that had me driving around the country a lot.

It was a good choice for this application since it's lightweight and fits right behind the seat of my car.

This model has a nice, wide neck to practice on anywhere I am without having to deal with the heavy weight or worrying about damaging one of my more expensive guitars.

It has served me beautifully but I'm going back to school so I just don't need the Martin and it is just sitting in my room not being played.

If you've never played a Backpacker, there's one thing you should know or probably do if you've read any reviews; Martin didn't skimp on the neck. It has a solid mahogany neck with some heft to it which is stange since the body of the guitar is very lightweight. In fact, compared to other guitars it weighs next to nothing. That's the "backpacker" feature of the design.

The Martin Backpacker Classical Guitar is extremely playable and puts out a surprising amount of volume, but the design is such that all the weight is in the neck which can make it a challenge to control until you get the hang of it but once you do you will start to appreciate the advantages of this set up. So, that is not really a problem or a "con", especially since the the guitar weighs less than 2 1/2 pounds. The weight distribution just adds a bit of a learning curve, and you'll definitely want to play it while wearing a guitar strap.

If you are in the market for a lightweight, inexpensive travel guitar that you can take to work or hiking or just anywhere, the Martin really is a great choice.

I just don't need or have time to play it anymore and hate to see it sitting there in the corner of my room just collecting dust.

I bought it for $150 three years ago and have definitely gotten my money's worth out of it, so I'm willing to negotiate on price as long as it goes to a new home where it will be played.

It comes with a gig bag and a guitar strap.
