1962 Fender Stratocaster
by South Burlington
The 1962 Fender Stratocaster for sale has that soft, worn look that comes from years of playing and has a very comfortable neck. The guitar's body is worn smooth and when you play it; the tone is exactly what you would expect from a vintage guitar of this caliber.
The tone is very rich with a crisp low end, silky mids and a SWEET
high end. There is a slight buzz here and there but the guitar is well set up and extremely playable with the action setup a little on the low side.
It plays in tune all up and down the neck and ready for shredding or to put on display on your wall.
Whoever is fortunate enough to have found this electric guitar for sale
and take it home will want to show it off everyway that he/she possibly can.
This 1962 Fender Strat is all original except for:
- the nut
- 2 wires
- one single capacitor that runs from one of the tone knobs
- the neck has been refretted at one time
Everything else is original.
It is missing:
- the arm of the tremolo
- the screws from the back plate. The back plate is included but not installed on the guitar
The Sunburst finish on the guitar's Alderwood body has an extremely warm look.
The maple neck has a Brazilian rosewood fretboard with a 7.25" radius and dot inlays.
The back of the neck has been sanded down and we have to say that whoever did it did a very professional job.
The neck is smooth and even with no dings or dents.
The original, single line Kluson Deluxe tuners are in fine working order.
The single coil pickups are original as are :
- all of the pots
- the guitars pick guard
- t3 way switch
- input jack
The weight of the 1962 Fender Stratocaster for sale is 7.54 pounds.
The hardshell case guitar case (Serial Number 90801) is
I would rate the overall condition of the Strat as very good plus showing only typical light wear from playing it.
If you would like to request photos, you will see all of the worn areas and rough places on the finish in the typical places. There is a lighter ding that runs across the 10th fret that is fairly close to the fret and does not effect the playability of the guitar. The frets show some wear but they are still in playable condition. There is a light ding underneath the G string tuner on top of the headstock which also does not effect the excellent tuning stability of this guitar.
The hardshell guitar case in good condition and is functional for travel although one release is missing but it's latch still locks in and out. On the other side of the case, one latch is missing but its release is still there. There is a tear on one side and a few lighter scuffs all from regular use. The case is very clean for one dating back to 1962.
This is a stunning vintage guitar for sale that has been played enough to be broken in.
