This website, Easy Guitar Guy Lessons.com is another example of my wife's determination to get me to share my musical experiences with the kids. She's been trying to get me to write a book about the bands that I've recorded in my studio, the amazing musicians that I've had the honor of playing gigs and recorded with.
I, like most guitar pickers, would much rather play than sit in an office. I can't afford to hire a ghost writer and my typing and/or organizational skills aren't exactly top-of-the-line so writing my "memoirs" has never been at the top of my list of fun stuff to do.
However, my wife DOES know and thing or two about computers and she is a master of persuasion when it comes to getting me to do her bidding. So here I am, ready and willing to do what I can to help you learn to play guitar and it sure does beat the heck out of cleaning the gutters; what can I say?
There is no Master's degree in music for me to tell you about but my lack of a formal education in music may be a positive thing rather than a negative. This means that I can improvise and play with anybody, in any style without sheet music or a chart and I will teach you to do the same right here on Easy Guitar Guy Lessons.com.
When the great Chet Atkins was asked if he knew how to read music, his reply was "Not enough to hurt my playing".
The mission of this website is give beginners free guitar lessons that will help them to learn to play guitar fast enough that they won't get bored and quit. That may not seem like a big thing to fans of musical theory but to those of us who actually enjoy playing rather than reading about it in some book; it's huge.
I encourage beginners to learn 3 basic chords in the Key of A even before they learn all 15 of the basic guitar chords so that they can start to play a few easy guitar songs. That little taste of early success can make all the difference to kids.
Thanks for being interested in learning about Easy Guitar Guy Lessons. Even though the music business ain't what it used to be, there will always be room for great guitar players.
